Topic Research Guys All I did was eneter " self esteem" and made no other changes and only a few books show up. That cant be right? There should be hundreds....what is limiting the seach? Plus there were lots of irrelevant books as well. DB

Personal Details for Manuscript

I love the .ai platform and all it has to offer. However, it would be very helpful if there were a way to add personal details to the tone section. I am working on my first 30K book but had to put it back into ChatGPT with my personal details to be included in the book. While this method works it is quite time consuming. If it were part of the process in Publishing.ai it would save a ton of time. It would also make it humanized.

Something helpful when using the Writing Sample.

It would be very enlightening to know what the default settings are when engaging the first attempt of the Writing Sample. By knowing that, we would use less attempts of the Writing Sample and save time in our exploring of differing styles. Thanks Michael

Audible option

I currently use word to “listen” to my chapters while proofreading and editing. It gives me a different perspective one of which is how the book will sound on ACX, but also about rhythm, pacing and tone. I’m wondering if this option could be considered in further development of Publishing AI?

Publishing.ai tutorial

How about a brief tutorial on the mechanics of using Publishing.ai? Things like “How to delete an empty chapter heading” and dos and don’ts of cutting and pasting would be helpful. Things don’t work exactly like MS Word or even Google Docs, do they?

Customer Research Fine-Tuning

I am guessing you scrape the ASIN’s we provide for Negative book qualities to exclude and positive book qualities to include. At this time we can’t edit it. But it would be cool in the future if you could give us maybe 10 of each or something, and we get to select which negative book qualities to focus on excluding, etc. Maybe even number of times it comes up in reviews. That way, if we don’t agree about excluding a certain thing or including it, we can select that.

Make navigation easier.

I frequently get frustrated when trying to navigate all the various entry points into the product(s). Is it publishing.ai or is it app.publishing.ai or is it publishing.com or is it www.ai.publishing.com or is it ????? Who the heck knows? And by the time I find what I’m looking for, I’ve forgotten what I’m looking for. I’d love to have a single super entry point which will contain titles of, explanations of, and urls for each of the current entry points. Just a nice, simple LIST that is easy to scan quickly. Thank you

Highlighter option in manuscript

feedback from a student - I'm just going through the first manuscript the Ai software has generated and so far it looks great! One thing I think would be a great addition to it is a highlighter feature. You know how you can highlight sections of text in a Google doc in bright yellow or green etc? There are sections of the manuscript that I want to go back over, and the way I'm making the text look different is with the bold feature. This isn't ideal as it doesn't stand out like a highlighted section would.

Bolding in the Outline Editor

When pasting sections into the outline editor it would wonderful to have the ability to ‘bold’ the text so that it can keep a congruent format with what the software creates. This will also make it much easier to glance through the outline and view each section more easily at a high level. I am a PA coach and have had the same feedback/wishes from students :)

Make the entry field on Book Description bigger and scrollable

When you want to generate a book description, the field “Who will by the book?” allows up to 1000 characters, but you can’t see what you’ve keyed. Make the box taller and add a vertical scroll bar. Thanks, Ann

2 Bugs in the Manuscript Generator

I have found 2 bugs that consistently show up when I generate a manuscript. The title of a chapter’s first subsection is often omitted from the manuscript, even though its content is included. I have to find the appropriate point and add it. The tool is inconsistent about including the subsection’s number on its title. See the image attached of my TOC, showing where it did and didn’t include the subsection numbers. Thanks, Ann

Show total characters title + subtitle

When I’m typing the title, it shows the characters count only while I’m in the box. Same for the subtitle. Since the max for the 2 combined is 200, show the total characters somewhere on the Outline setup page where they’re entered. Thanks.

Outline reconfigures title: subtitle

I have had titles that included a word, a colon and a phrase, followed by a detailed subtitle that picks up the key words. The Book Outline fields are consistently interpreting the colon as the divider between the title and subtitle. After I’ve generated the Outline, I see that my phrase that was after the title’s colon has been moved to the Subtitle field, and the detailed subtitle that I painstakingly created is gone. For example, if I want my title to be Potted Gardening: Nature in the City, followed by a subtitle that details the benefits, I should be able to use that without the system altering it. I shouldn’t have to know about this “feature” that’s not intuitive and remember to omit the colon from the title as a work-around. Please remove the code that is doing this. Thanks, Ann Neel

1 - an accessible Table Of Contents (on the left side like the outline editor) having the ability to move chapters around while updating their references in order (for the reference section) if the chapters move within the book to a different location. Not having a TOC to view while making the book is like missing a map, a key element of organization. This software has already shown it can do this in the outline editor. The code is written. It just needs to be tweaked and dropped into the Manuscript Editor. If the company wants its software to be truly fantastic, it needs these elements. I would be done my book by now and happily have joined the subscription offer, had this major issue been addressed and included. But as it is, the software still requires work to bring it up to the greatness it aspires to be.
